Kurilsky Nature Reserve
MANAGEMENT APPROACH
In the refuge the following activities are prohibited:
- commercial, sports and amateur hunting;
- coastal and industrial fishing, finding with appropriate tools for the extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources;
- logging (except for timber harvesting by citizens for their own needs);
- harvesting and collection of non-timber forest resources (except for harvesting and collection of non-timber forest resources by citizens for their own needs), harvesting food forest resources and collecting medicinal plants (except for harvesting food forest resources by citizens and collecting medicinal plants by them for their own needs), harvesting rhizomes of rhodiola pink;
- clear felling;
- carrying out irrigation, irrigation, blasting operations, geological study, exploration and production of minerals, as well as other works related to the use of subsoil;
- the use of pesticides, mineral fertilizers, plant protection chemicals and growth stimulants;
- creation of facilities for disposal of production and consumption waste, radioactive, chemical, explosive, toxic, toxic and poisonous substances;
- provision of land plots for individual housing construction;
- introduction of living organisms for the purpose of their acclimatization;
- the implementation of recreational activities (including the organization of recreation sites and making fires) outside the specially designated places;
- travel and parking of motor vehicles off public roads, fording spawning rivers;
- passage and anchorage of ships and other floating equipment without agreement with the reserve (except for the transit passage of all types of ships through the straits between the islands included in the water area of the reserve, where passage is impossible without crossing the water area of the reserve);
- landing of aircraft and disembarkation of passengers from them on land and water without agreement with the reserve or the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia;
- being with firearms, pneumatic and throwing weapons, traps and other hunting tools, including assembled firearms on public roads, as well as with products from the extraction of wildlife objects;
- destruction or damage to barriers, sold-out houses, stands and other information signs and signs, as well as equipped ecological paths and recreation sites;
- walking dogs without leashes;
- collection of zoological, botanical, mineralogical collections and paleontological objects without the consent of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia;
- staying less than 200 m from the rookeries of marine mammals and nesting sites of colonial seabirds without the permission of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia or the reserve;
- discharge from ships of garbage, waste oil products and fecal waters;
- other types of activity entailing a decrease in the ecological value of a given territory or causing harm to protected objects of the animal world and their habitat.
